"While being vulnerable can be frightening, it’s also profoundly beautiful and liberating."

You are allowed to live a life that feels joyful, meaningful, and fulfilling. It may not always feel this way, but you are in fact capable of creating the life that you desire and that you deserve. Are you tired of feeling stuck? Are you curious about why you make certain choices? Do you want to make a change, but maybe don’t know where to start?

Through our work together, it is my primary goal to provide you with a warm, trustworthy, and non-judgemental place for you. Therapy will be a space for you to explore your personal experiences and gain awareness, develop agency and authenticity, and create the change you desire. It can be difficult to be open and vulnerable.

There is bravery and strength in the ability to look inward, be honest and open, and dedicate yourself to your own well-being. You deserve a place where you can be yourself.

Meet Dr. Ariel Zeigler, Ph.D,
Clinical Psychologist

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who works with individuals and couples in New York City and throughout New York state. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions – whether those be due to phase of life, loss, or chronic medical illness.

I practice collaboratively, empathically, and fully from the notion of meeting individuals where they are at, and not utilizing a one-size-fits all approach. I draw on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and additional interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to help foster insight and change into the lives of the individuals I work with.

I pay close attention to each client’s various identities and promote understanding that our diverse identities impact who we are, how we navigate the world, and what we bring to the therapy space.

Through our work together, you will be able to:

  • Learn or strengthen existing tools to help you navigate life’s challenges
  • Gain control over your life
  • Find a greater sense of meaning and purpose
  • Better navigate challenges surrounding new or chronic health diagnoses

Therapy is a space where you can be your full, authentic self. I believe that investing in yourself is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Let’s do this together.

If this resonates, please reach out to me today to schedule a complimentary consultation.

Are you ready to grow and expand into the life you want?

One of the best parts of the work for me is the “ah-ha!” moment – when a client draws a connection or forms a deeper understanding of something they do or believe. Fostering awareness is one of the most beautiful aspects of creating long-lasting change.

I come from a family of mental health clinicians and have always been curious about human behavior and why we do the things that we do. My mother was a NYC Board of Education social worker for 20+ years and I felt drawn to therapy at a young age. There is nothing better than supporting a client in achieving their goals and establishing a deeper sense of purpose and connection to themselves.

I would say that I understand! I recognize that therapy can seem intimidating. Especially with the existence of stigma around mental health and preconceived notions of what therapy looks like, it is understandable if someone is on the fence. I would then say that the therapy space is yours, and I will act collaboratively to meet you where you are at to achieve the life that you imagine for yourself.
